Our Brush with Fame

Quite a while back, one of my triplet mom friends from New Orleans posted that a company in Chicago was looking for triplet families for a commercial.  A whole bunch of us submitted our pics and had people come out to our homes.  It was a cleaning product that they couldn't disclose.  Nothing ever came of this as the company decided to do an animated commercial (Scrubbing Bubbles).

Then, I received this email in July that said a casting agent wanted our family to try out for a Weber photo shoot.  So, the kids and I went to Chicago to have our picture taken (Chris was working).  Turns out, they wanted us for two shoots.  One was for a family pool party, and the other was for father and sons little league shoot.  The main point is that they were looking for normal, regular people.  The only downside is that they only wanted kids 5 and older.  I can understand that, so Brooke stayed with my mom.

The great thing was that the family photo shoot was right in South Barrington.  We showed up at this gigantic house with full on trailer for changing, vans, camera, lights, staff, etc!!!

There were even signs for "Actors and Talent".  Haha!  I had talked with the wardrobe consultant a couple days prior and pretty much brought our entire closets to the shoot.  The director came over and chose our outfits.  They didn't want anything to busy, no logos, etc.  We ended up wearing just plain clothing.

There were many different shoots taking place that day, and they were running behind, so we drove around a bit and got some ice-cream.

When we went back, they walked us over to the backyard and the pool area.  Again, this house was amazing.  We were greeted by at least a dozen people helping with backdrop lighting, placement, etc.  Chris was placed by the grill (which is the same grill we have).  He was flipping burgers over and over and there was a plate of perfectly cooked burgers next to him.  They wanted plenty of pics of the triplets eating burgers.  One problem, Abby doesn't eat meat!  I was chatting with some of the helpers there and we were laughing because she tricked everyone and just ate the bun.  The kids did great!  Then they had me sit on a lounge chair while the kids sat at the edge of the pool and splashed their legs.   Unfortunately, there were tons of bees which freaked Jack out.  He ended up sitting with me on the chair.  There was also an older couple there that played the grandparents.  They sat with the kids while Chris flipped his burgers.  The camera man took pics from every single angle!  One of the guys caught a frog from the pool and was showing the kids.

They gave us drinks that had all labels removed.  So funny how all that works!  And just like that, we were done!  We got our check and left.  They even gave us some food to take home.  Chris said the burger was delicious.  They had a professional Weber chef there to cook them!

We are not exactly sure what will come of this shoot.  They said these pics could end up in a catalog or in a banner at Home Depot.  Either way, it was such a cool experience.  And with the money I made, I could finally buy my Vitamix!!!  The kids' money went to their bank accounts.

The second shoot was in Arlington Heights at a beautiful, large house.  Chris took just the boys to this one.  It was raining a bit that day, but he said everyone did great!  They even had a little picnic on the field.  They each wore a little league uniform and Chris wore a shirt that said "Coach".  I can't wait to see pics!!!
