Birthday Party

I finally have a chance to post about the babies' birthday party. I had been watching the weather all week long and thank goodness there was no rain forecasted. Unfortunately, for late August, it was a bit chilly and very windy. It was a bit hectic getting ready for the party in the morning. Chris had to go to the doc to get his stitches removed (he cut his leg earlier in the week). Thanks to all my great neighbors and family members that came over early to help setup! Honestly, we could not have done it without you!

The party started at 1:00pm and the guests just kept coming. I think we clogged up the whole street with parking. This was our first get together after remodeling the home, so there were a lot of tours going on. I basically lost track of who came in. Mikey G took over in the kitchen along with Chris's mom to get all the food served up. Our neighbor was gracious enough to bring a basketball shooting game over. The G's also brought a mini jumpy house.

The babies were so good about being passed from one person to another. We had some great future babysitters (yes, you, Miss Lizzy!) Abby even managed to take an hour nap during the party.

Eventually we got to the pinata, which was run by Mikey and G. It was a big "hit" with the kids ;) Then came the fun part, cake time!

From the pics, you can clearly see that Abby wasn't into it. She wanted to stay clean and her cake was intact. The boys, however, didn't feel that way. At one point, Josh had a sippy cup that was unrecognizable because of all the frosting. All in all, they really enjoyed that part! Next came baths and their bottles.
