Day 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Without the Bottle

Have we been successful?  Hard to say.  They are definitely not keeping up with their old amount of milk intake.  Is that a bad thing?  Maybe not.  The kids are very high on the weight charts and the lack of milk won't hurt them.

Not only have the bottles gone out the door, but the old schedule has as well.  Do you realize that we used to take the kids upstairs 7 TIMES to go in their high chairs a day!!!  I was just thinking about that the other day.  Now, we've cut it down to 4 times.  The kids take their snack in the playroom with a milk sippy.

The only bad thing is that there doesn't seem to be time for water because I am trying so hard to push the milk.  I have heard from some moms that water is simply a filler at this age anyway.

Josh is the milk champ and is close to 22 ounces per day.  He doesn't spill as much when he drinks and is used to cold milk now.  Jack is still messy.  I have to sit with a paper towel under his chin because he gets lazy, or plays, and spits it out when he's had enough.  The only one that worries me is Abby because she barely finishes half of what she used to drink.  On the plus side, she seems to be eating more solid food.

There is still some adjusting being done with nap schedules.  Some days they seem more cranky and need a morning nap, some days just afternoon.  Today, the boys slept for 2 hours at 10am and Abby only 1 hour.

One things for sure, I am SO glad to be rid of those stupid bottles!

  1. So glad they are doing well. Is normal that first they don't like the idea and they need to adjust.

What sippy cups do you use?
