Our Houseguest

We had a fun-filled two days when our friend Mat came to visit.  He needed a break and we were happy to have him here.  The kids took a little time to warm up, but then, Josh was his best buddy!

We took Mat to the forest preserve/farm for a walk.  We had our family pictures taken here last year and it really is a beautiful, peaceful place right in the middle of a busy town.

 Look how low the water is.  We definitely need rain!

They were working in the barn so the animals were outside.  The kids enjoyed chasing the chickens around.

The next day we went to the zoo.  Mat had never been to Brookfield Zoo and was eager to go.

Because of Mat, we visited the petting farm, which we have never been in.  I think the kids enjoyed themselves.

 Josh was so happy to have Mat there and loved looking at every single exhibit with him.

When we got home, everyone threw around the football in the backyard.  Abs was throwing to Mat and was pretty good!  We have got to get these kids into some sports!
