Pet Butterflies

The kids were super excited for their butterflies to hatch out of their chrysalis's. Julie said that the chrysalis will get super dark before hatching. We were keeping an eye on one in particular and after we went somewhere, we came home to this!

We read that the butterfly needs to have dry wings before releasing him. We kept him for 24 hours before letting him go.

The kids gathered some flowers and twigs and made him a little home. It was really neat to watch the butterfly up close.

The next day we released him. We can't wait for the other butterflies to come out!
