Yummy, Yummy!

Our pediatrician approved it and off we went. The babies are now eating rice cereal once a day! Can you believe it?! I have to admit, the thought of sticking a spoon into the mouth of a 4 month old scared me, but, what the heck? We did it anyways!

So, our New Year's Eve was quite the milestone. Chris and I mixed up the rice cereal with the formula and put the bibs on the babies. Up first was Josh. We thought he would go to town with this stuff. Well, we learned that feeding him with a spoon when the kid was starving was not such a good idea. Next was Abby, she sampled and she liked, kinda. Surprisingly, our pickiest eater, Jack, did the best. Of course more landed on their bib than in their mouth. Not too bad for our first time.

What New Year's Eve wouldn't be complete with a little rice cereal for ourselves. Not only did the babies try something new, so did we! We made Grandma P., Grandpa P., and Grandma Mary try it too. Sorry, no pics of that!

What I learned:

• this is gonna take time...and manpower!
• feed a bottle, THEN try the cereal (as proved by Josh's crying)
• use bibs, bibs, and more bibs
• rice cereal tastes like mashed potatoes
