33 Months Old!

I can't believe that in 3 months I will have 3 three year olds! Anyone know how to stop time? Every day I am seeing less and less of any sort of "baby" in them. They are just so big already and their attitudes reflect that. Part of me is extremely sad, while the other part is excited to watch them enter a new stage in life. There are many things they can do now that they couldn't before. Even a simple trip to the zoo or library is very different experience.

Here's what's happening:

Abby: I thought we were making some progress on the whole eating thing, but no. She is still loving the snacks and anything chocolate and skipping on the meals. Any time she gets upset, she automatically says that her belly hurts her. This started whenever it was bath time and she wanted to avoid it. I try to not make a big deal out of it so that she can learn to cope in a better way. Abby's favorites are still her hippo and her cock-a-doodle-doo (rooster). She also loves her dinosaur that she received from my cousins on Easter. Abby prefers Barney to any other show, but will tolerate Thomas and Bob the Builder.

Jack: Trouble, trouble, trouble! But, cute trouble! This kid will not listen to us! The funniest part is that he knows when he is being bad and will run away from us smiling and laughing. Ugh! So frustrating. He also has a new stubborn streak. For example, he will want two cookies instead of one. When we tell him that he can have another as soon as he finishes the first one, he throws a tantrum and ends up with none! Jacky's favorites are still his puppy and his dinosaur. He loves cooking in the play kitchen and all types of cartoons.

He is still the all time champion when it comes to eating. Wow! He is just like my dad and we nicknamed him "The Garbage Disposal". He really will eat his brother and sister's leftovers!

Josh: He gets the monthly award for best behavior (there really isn't one). Lately he has been listening to us and really understanding consequences. I usually only have to ask him to do something once. He is still my buddy and is always coming over for a hug. Joshy has the cutest smile and loves to be tickled. This kid has the best memory ever! He will tell stories from days ago and will hold us to something that we promised. His eating hasn't been the best lately. He's gotten into a phase that when he is done with something but hasn't swallowed it, he will ask us to spit it out. I guess it takes way too much energy to swallow! His dependence on burp cloths has decreased drastically. They no longer make their way into his mouth. He loves to just hold them.

We are just so happy that spring has finally arrived and that we can play outside again. We've made a couple of trips to the park already and the kids really enjoy their new sandbox. We hope to bring out the water table when it really gets hot. With the weather around here, that could be tomorrow!
