On Thursday, my friend Jen invited us to go with her and her kids to the Naperville Children's Museum. We both had never been and we weren't quite sure what to expect. The drive there was about an hour long and we arrived right when it opened.
Imagine the children's joy when this was the first exhibit we saw:
Then there were these:
It was like a life-sized Lite Brite from my childhood! The whole area had a black light and the kids could make designs with the glow sticks. Then there was a music center, a place to draw on the walls and that was just the first room. The second area was all about building with blocks and real hammers and nails (we didn't go in the workshop because the kids didn't want to wear the goggles).
The kids enjoyed crawling through the giant tunnel
They really loved taking a ball and watching it wind through the maze. You could build your own maze as well.
Of course, this next section just took the cake. The boys got really wet and we didn't wear the aprons. Oh well!
Alex let Jack sit on his lap. He was so good with the kids. I especially loved when he called the kids he said, "Come on Abby, Jack & Josh" not sure who was who! Then they worked with magnetic tiles
