Off to the Zoo!

Since it was going to be a nice day, we decided to head to the zoo.  I called some of my old co-workers and had them meet us there.

The kids fell asleep on the drive over and it took them a little while to get excited.  Even so, they were more excited to see water fountains and rocks than the animals!

You wouldn't believe how many times we heard, "I'm hungry".  Thankfully, we were well equipped with snacks.

My friend, Susan, could only stay for a couple of minutes.  The good thing is that the zoo is only minutes away from her house.  It was great to meet her kiddos.  Mel, Anthony, and her new baby, Reagan, toured the zoo with us.  Anthony was a great tour guide and could find every animal in every exhibit.  He even gave the kids wagon rides!

Abs was a bit disappointed because her normal hippos weren't on display in the monkey area.  They just had a pygmy hippo that just laid there.  They are redoing many of the exhibits.  We'll have to come back when all the animals are around.
