Water Fun and First Fireworks Show

Since everyone was up late for the 4th of July, we decided to take it easy today.  We also planned on taking the kids to the Palatine fireworks for the first time.  We used to always go to watch and when the kids were smaller, we were always worried that they wouldn't be able to stay awake for the show.

The pool and the water table were set up.  Brooke stuck to the water table!  She just loves splashing around in it.

And Daddy even joined them in the pool.  No need for fancy swim clothes ;)  Josh really enjoyed watering Chris.

Our friends always go to the same parking lot and we decided it would be a great place to view the fireworks.  Their kids are always so great with ours.  So fun to finally see our kids interact with others.  They especially love older kids.

Once the fireworks started, Josh asked, "Are they over soon?" Okay, buddy!  Try not to get so excited!

Brooke loved pointing to the sky and watching.  I'm just glad they weren't too long because the kids got bored quickly.  Oh well!  We tried!
