The summer is coming to an end and we decided we needed a mini vacation. We've done plenty of fun things, but we just wanted to get away. We decided to go to Sheboygan, Wisconsin to the Blue Harbor Resort for its awesome water park and Lake Michigan beach. Chris and I visited with his family before the children were born and loved it there.
Can you believe that our children have never been to a hotel?! Whenever we went out of town, we stayed with family and/or friends. Their reaction was priceless! During the car ride they asked about the bathrooms in a hotel, where people sleep, etc. The drive took about 2.5 hours and was uneventful. The kids were happy because they got to watch movies in the car. We only allow that during vacations. Because of this, our kids are fantastic with directions!
The boys were super excited that there was a mini fridge in the room.
They had to unpack right away!
We arrived midday and checked in right away. It was a bit cool out and the fog was finally burning off. Perfect time for the water park! The kids were absolutely amazed at how big the place was and all the things to do. Because they can't swim yet, we had them wear their Puddle Jumpers (best purchase). This place was just perfect for kids. They had 2 big water slides the kids could go on by themselves. They also had 2 that they had to go on with adults. I couldn't believe that the triplets went right away by themselves!
This little girl was excited to explore everywhere. She is at the stage of just running around without a care in the world. She definitely keeps us on our toes!
After spending a good amount of time at the water park, the kids were tired and hungry. We retreated back to the room to shower and change and get ready for dinner. Of course, I wanted to take some family pics by the beach.
The view from our room was fabulous and it was so nice to walk the trails and on the beach.
Such a beautiful hotel. Reminds me of Mackinac!
Brooke fell asleep and we didn't want to disturb her, hence the pics of 3 kids instead of 4.
The water was freezing! My feet felt numb from just stepping in. I can't even describe how good it felt to walk in the warm sand!
We had dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort. Managed to snap this pic of all four before Brooke ran off. That girl loves to explore!
The resort holds a s'mores bonfire every night. How great is that?! I got my fill of marshmallows!
We had such a busy day that the big kids passed out right away. The little one, however, took a bit longer to fall asleep. I don't blame her though. It was weird for her to sleep in a pack n' play in a room with her whole family. She didn't want to miss anything! Fantastic first day of vacation!!!!
