A couple years ago, we visited the train museum. We thought that the kids would be impressed by the size and grandeur. They were a bit too young to appreciate it. Well, earlier in the year I had purchased a Groupon to come back and of course, we didn't get around to it until the very last day it was available. That day just happened to be extremely cold!!!
We bundled everyone up and headed to the museum. As soon as we got there, one of the trains was loading up for a small tour. This was great because none of our kids have been on a train. They were super excited! This one was an old electric car which didn't move too quickly.
We then went from building to building to see the old, gigantic trains that used to run in Chicago. The colors were fantastic! The kids just wanted to climb everything!
The pictures just don't do this place justice. The size of these things is unbelievable.
We also heard that there would be a train taking us to a small pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.
Once we got there, the kids got to pick out a pumpkin and have juice and cookies. Yum!
We didn't let the cold ruin our day, but boy were we happy to get into the nice and warm car!
