16 Month Pedi Visit

Today we took the kids for their monthly shots. Let me tell ya, it is getting harder and harder with each month because the kids recognize what's going on. This time, we made them wear shoes so they could run around. They were MUCH happier that way.

First, the stats:

Abby

weight: 25.6 lbs. 76%

height: 33 in. 95%

head: 47.5 cm 90%

Josh

weight: 27 lbs. 75%

height: 32 3/4 85%

head: 49.4 cm 94%

Jack

weight: 25.13 lbs. 60%

height: 32 1/4 75%

head: 48.5 cm 89%

As you can see, they are GROWING!!! Abby is our tall girl, Josh's head is big, and Jack is our little guy.

We also found out that Jack has a minor ear infection! We would never have known. Josh is the one who has not slept through the night in days and ends up in bed with us. We're giving my little man some antibiotics.

Abby is the worst when it comes to being examined. Kind of like she is at home when being changed. She screams and flails around like crazy. Josh was using the examining table bottom as a jungle gym.

I think Jack purposely pulled his little stunt because he didn't have to get any shots. We have to take him in next month when he is done with his medicine.

The pedi said that their vocabulary should be around 3-5 words. I don't know if she took into consideration their prematurity. They currently say mama, dada, ball, and book. Although those last two are not enunciated and sound more like ba. We might give Early Intervention a call and have them tested. They are constantly babbling and making their own words, and they definitely understand what we tell them. Never hurts to give it a try!

Looking forward to the holidays and a bit worried as their sleep schedule might be off. We'll see how they handle it. May be some sleepless nights ahead!
