A Day At the Races, and Another First!

Our kids have been wanting to ride the train for quite some time.  Chris and I just attended the Billy Joel concert at Wrigley Field on Saturday night and bought weekend passes.  We figured it would be a great time to take them for a ride and then head to Arlington Race Track.

The kids were super excited and had many, many questions about the train.  We parked at Arlington and waited by the track.  The train was pretty full, but we found some seats.  We got off a couple stops later and had some lunch.  On the way back to the track, the train was packed again and we had to stand.  Chris did have an opportunity to take them upstairs to sit for a bit because they were curious about those seats.

It was family day at the racetrack which meant there were face painting stations, petting zoo, and bounce houses.  The lines were so long for face painting, that we decided to go to the petting zoo.

The kids loved feeding the animals.  Brooke was especially excited and was a bit frightened to let them eat out of her hand.

Of course we had to take some pictures! 

We parked at Arlington, which was a great idea when it was time to go.  The kids talked us into stopping at McDonald's for ice cream.  All in all, it was a great day!
